Sadie Dillon-Baatz

Sadie Dillon-Baatz is an associate attorney who concentrates her practice in the areas of adoptions and guardianships. She assists clients with guardianships for adults and minors, and she assists clients with adoptions including foster parent adoptions, private adoptions, stepparent adoptions and grandparent adoptions.

Sadie is a Guardian Ad Litem and completed training to serve in this capacity. Her specialized instruction and education as a Guardian Ad Litem included topics such as early childhood and adolescent development and the identification and treatment of child abuse and neglect. This training allows her to represent the best interests of individuals who are unable to represent themselves, including children and incapacitated persons.

She has experience working with parents and guardians in family law cases as a volunteer at the Viola J. Taliaferro Family and Children Mediation Clinic in Bloomington during law school. At the clinic she mediated pro bono cases for low-income families.

Prior to joining Burt Blee, Sadie worked at another local firm where she focused on family law cases, including premarital agreements, dissolutions, adoptions, paternity matters, custody disputes, child support issues, and guardianships. While working on family law cases, Sadie discovered her true passion for adoptions, guardianships, and her work as a Guardian Ad Litem.
