David Crell

David Crell is a trial attorney who represents individuals, families, and businesses in litigation throughout Indiana. His practice focuses on family law, personal injury, business disputes, and other civil litigation.

Before devoting his practice entirely to private practice, David served as a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney, where he prosecuted a broad range of criminal matters, including serious felony offenses, crimes against children, and misdemeanor cases. He developed substantial courtroom experience through numerous jury and bench trials, trying cases ranging from misdemeanors to Level 1 felonies. That experience continues to shape his approach to civil litigation, emphasizing meticulous preparation, persuasive advocacy, and confidence in the courtroom.

David believes effective advocacy begins by identifying the issues that will truly determine the outcome of a case and developing a strategy that advances the client's objectives. He works closely with clients to understand their goals, provide candid assessments of their legal options, and develop practical strategies tailored to their objectives. His goal is to help clients make informed decisions based on sound legal advice rather than false hope or unnecessary conflict.

While David is always prepared to take a case to trial when necessary, he recognizes that litigation is a means to an end, not an end in itself. He focuses on resolving disputes efficiently whenever doing so advances his clients' interests, while remaining prepared to advocate forcefully in court when a favorable resolution cannot be achieved.

Clients appreciate David's direct communication, responsiveness, and thoughtful counsel. He believes trust is earned through honesty, preparation, and a commitment to keeping clients informed throughout the legal process.

David earned his Juris Doctor from Michigan State University College of Law after graduating from Indiana University. He is admitted to practice before all Indiana state courts.

Outside the practice of law, David enjoys painting, performing in community theater productions, spending time with his wife and children at Lake Wawasee, and, according to his daughter, taking every reasonable opportunity to embarrass her.
